The Simpsons Hit and Run Wiki
Description: Cutscenes skip is the trick which saves the
most time in the run if we don't account general gameplay. The timesave
depends on the category but we can count it in minutes. There are seven
differents cutscenes in the game but only four of them are currently
skippable in a legal full game run.
All cutscenes: Intro cutscene: 40sec [NOT SKIPPABLE]
1-5
cutscene: 45sec [NOT SKIPPABLE]
Level 2 ending cutscene: 55sec
[SKIPPABLE]
4-5 cutscene: 1m02sec [NOT SKIPPABLE]
Level 5 ending
cutscene: 2m20sec [SKIPPABLE]
Level 6 ending cutscene: 43sec
[SKIPPABLE]
Level 7 ending cutscene: 2min 40s
How to perform it: After completing a mission there will
be a small frame window where you'll be able to pause. This frame window
depends on the framerate you're playing with. The higher the fps are the
harder it gets. To get a pause on the right frame start pausing nearly
when the mission complete text disappear and start pausing unpausing at a
good rythme to advance the game for a few frames. until you're on the
right frames. Every one of these cutscenes feels different and no general
cue exists for them so it's recommended to practice each of these a lot.
Special case:The Apu cutscene skip is the only one
which doesn't let you pause buffering, this means you either have to pause
on the right frame by mashing or you can alt tab and that will let you
perform pause buffering.
Cutscenes skips examples:
Warning: You can't skip any cutscene in a No Mission
Warps run or your run will be invalided.
If you managed to have the
correct pause menu but the background is black don't mission warp or your
game will crash. The only option here is to save the game and to relaunch
it.
